Autoharp Accessories for Serious Autoharpists

The autoharp is not an easy instrument to go shopping for. Fortunately, I found some great places to buy autoharp accessoires online from cases to strings, tuners to tuning wrenches. If there's something missing, please feel free to let me know, and I'll see if I can find a great deal on 'em.

Autoharp Strings

  • Music123 through Amazon.com : Full-set of autoharp strings at about 30% off the list price. No individual strings, but a good deal for your backup set of strings.
  • Bob Lewis' Autoharp Works : If you need individual strings quickly and reliably, Bob Lewis is the place to go. $2.75 for wound strings, $1 for unwound strings + S&H. (as of 7/15/03) Head to his website for further details.
  • Elderly Instruments : Elderly sells single autoharp strings too for a lower price than Autoharp Works, but not if ye need them asap.

Autoharp Tuners

  • KORG - CA20 : Chromatic guitar tuner. My tuner of choice since 1999. Low cost, yet very effective. Currently what I use.
  • Matrix MPU2 Clip-On Tuner Mic : With clothes pin type clip. If you have a chromatic tuner and no pickup, you'll need this.
  • Intellitouch Tuner : Easy to use. Clip it on, sound a note, tune. Can be used in a noisy environment without wires, microphones or pick-ups. Batteries included. The tuner I'd like to own.
  • Seiko ST757L Chromatic tuner : Auto/manual, analog/digital combination. Tuning guide, 3 LEDS. and Super Lumi-Brite LCD. Stores natural and artificial light to glow in the dark. Batteries included.

Autoharp Tuning Wrenches

  • T-shape Tuning wrench : A requirement for any autoharpist as this wrench protects the 'harp from stripping holes too quickly.

Autoharp Cases

Autoharp Finger Picks

  • Golden Gate thumbpicks : The heavy picks you love! Size small or mediium. This is my all-time favorite thumb pick. Stays on lasts for months of heavy plucking.
  • Dunlop plastic finger picks : Medium or large. White or clear. My preferred finger picks.
